The Town of Artesian Council met on June 5, 2019, in regular session at the Artesian Community Center. Council Member Kurt Effling called the meeting to order with Council Member T. King and Finance Officer Gwen Effling present. Also present was Tom Fridley.
The minutes of the May 1, 2019, meeting were read, motion by King to approve the minutes, motion carried. Financial reports were read; motion by King to approve, motion carried. The following vouchers were presented for the month; motion by King to approve, motion carried.

Old Business:
Streets – discussion was held on adding additional gravel onto city streets.
Discussion was held on mowing at the lagoon and the condition of the lagoon.
A discussion was held on the sewer/garbage accounts receivables – a list was presented per Ordinance No. 2019-2.
Discussion was held on the drainage issue within the city limits.
The board discussed the camping fee at the campground, and it was set at $20.00 per night for the 2019 camping season.
Discussion was held on the city wide clean-up. A roll-off dumpster has been set at the tennis court for the month of June until full. A white goods roll-off will be coming soon. The city applied for the West Nile grant and is awaiting reply.
New Business:
The board reviewed the OneBeacon Insurance Group Conditional Renewal Notice.
The July meeting will be held on July 10, 2019, at the Artesian Community Center at 7:30 p.m.
The board discussed the Planning and Development District III. A motion was made by King to join the organization again; motion carried.
Discussion was held on the city shed garage doors.
A discussion was held on the tractor/mower. A motion to purchase a commercial grade mower from Scott’s Supply in Mitchell was made by King; motion carried.
Discussion was held about the CIA Street Dance towards the end of the month. The Board is looking for bids to ‘fill in’ where a controlled fire took place on a vacated structure within the city limits.
A discussion was held on the city tractor and maintenance.
The next regular meeting is scheduled for July 10, 2019, at the Artesian Community Center at 7:30 p.m.
There being no further business motion by King to adjourn, motion carried.
