Keith Williamson, 80, of Sioux Falls died Saturday, Aug. 18, 2013.
Funeral services were Tuesday, Aug. 20 at First United Methodist Church with burial following in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Sioux Falls. George Boom Funeral Home in Sioux Falls was in charge of the arrangements.
Keith Mitchell Williamson was born Nov. 6, 1932 on the family farm south of Artesian to Clifford ”Bud” and Viola (Mitchell) Williamson. He lived there until his father’s death in 1938. The family moved to a smaller house south of Artesian. He attended Lyle and Sheldon Rural Schools.
They moved into Artesian in 1940. Keith continued his education at the Artesian School, graduating from Artesian High School in 1953. He grew up spending summers out on the farm working for uncles. He served in the U.S. Army from the fall of 1953 to the fall of 1955, spending most of that time at Ft. Leonard Wood, Mo.
After his return to Artesian, he worked for relatives and area farmers. In 1956 Keith began farming and milking dairy cowson his own south of Artesian. He sold his operation in December 1978.
He moved to Sioux Falls in 1979 and started working for Land O’ Lakes Lakeside Dairy, where he worked for 19 years. He retired in September 1998. He married Wanda (Capps) Langloss on Aug. 2, 1979 in Sioux Falls.
Keith was a member of First United Methodist Church. He enjoyed gardening and spending time with family and friends. He and his wife were part of the HyVee coffee group on 49th and Louise. They enjoyed little driving trips around the Sioux Falls area.
Keith was a loving husband, step-father, step-grandfather, brother and uncle. He was a gentle, kind man, liked by all who knew him and will be missed by many.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda; two step-children, Holly (special friend Michael) Wheeler, Pacifica, Calif., andHeath (Heather) Langloss, Tacoma, Wash.; one step-grandson,.; one sister, Joyce (special friend Jim) Behl, Parkston; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Harvey Doyle, Earl Douglas and Arlen; and a step-granddaughter, Cassie Mandeville.
