Paul August Weber, 83, of Mitchell, died Monday, May 11, 2015, at Avera Brady Nursing Home.
A wake was held at Will Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, May 13 with a prayer service. Funeral Mass was Thursday, May 14 at Holy Family Church in Mitchell. Burial was at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery in Dimock following the Mass and luncheon.
Paul August Weber, son of Fred J. Weber and Appalonia (Schoenfelder) Weber, was born Dec. 11, 1931 at Dimock. He attended school at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic School in Dimock. He served in the US Marine Corps, where he received the Good Conduct Medal prior to his honorable discharge in 1959. Paul was a carpenter and well driller for most of his life.
He enjoyed playing cards mostly pinochle and cribbage, and was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting and fishing. He loved attending and participating in local dances where he was a popular dance partner. He was an active member of the Holy Family congregation and a proud member of Knights of Columbus of Mitchell.
He is survived by four children, Patricia (Michael) Rook of Littleton, Colo., Dennis Weber of St. Paul, Minn., Randy (Danielle) Weber of Longmont, Colo., and Rodney (Elizabeth) Weber of St. Paul, Minn.; sisters, Adeline Thuringer, Pauline Muntefering, Irene Tischler and Sally Miiller; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Appaloni; brothers, Wilfred, James and infant brother, Alvin; sisters, Cecilia, Rose and Viola; and infant daughter Mary.
