Led by basketball prodigy Myah Selland’s double-double, the No. 3 Blackhawks cruised past Gayville-Volin in the Parkston Classic Monday, 68-47.
The junior veteran racked up 31 points, 10 rebounds, nine blocks and seven assists to dominate the Raiders. Senior Tayla Weber helped out with 12 points.
SCW gave a near-perfect performance with just four turnovers, while forcing 13. The Hawks had a total of 21 assists on their 25 total field goals, shooting 42 percent. SCW went 13-of-16 for 81 percent from the free throw line.
Genny Clark led G-V with 18 points and Traia Hubbard had 13 boards. The Raiders (4-2) went 11-of-51 from the field for just 22 percent.
The Blackhawks, now 2-1, will next host Hitchcock-Tulare for a Saturday, Jan. 2 doubleheader with the No. 2-rated boys in Forestburg.
