The Town ‘N Kountry Kids Red Crew 4-H Club met on Feb. 11 at the Community Center in Woonsocket.  Prior to the meeting, supper was served.
The meeting was called to order by President Aaron Linke. The flag pledge was led by Danielle Brooks, and the 4-H pledge was led by Isaiah Schultz. Roll call was led by Vice President Xavier Baysinger with the question, “When I am 30, I plan to be…” which was answered by 21 members.
The secretary’s report was read by Acaiya Schultz and the treasurer’s report was given by Megan Linke.
Henry Hunter and Lane Burkel reported on how shooting sports is going.  Acaiya talked about helping at the Paisley benefit.
Old business: Ice skating is set for Feb. 25 in Mitchell.  Fruit sales have begun and money will be used for the horse arena announcer stand, a sound system and aluminum bleachers, plus other improvements. Members will schedule the community service project at the nursing home in March.  The members need to work on a schedule for setting barrels Memorial Day weekend.
New business: Members were encouraged to try a new project area and talked about some of the suggestions in Audra’s newsletter article.  The 4-H International Exchange program includes kids from Norway and Japan this summer, if anyone is interested.
Dilyn Brooks told about her community service project that she is doing with melted crayons, and the club members encouraged other community service ideas. The youth council statewide service project is to collect clothing items to give to shelters.
The next meeting will follow ice skating on Feb. 25.
Following the meeting, Valentine’s Day cards were signed for elderly friends, and some of the 4-H members made a candy treat to share.
All 4-H members played a fun game of “Valentine Upset,” led by Recreation Officers Hope Baysinger and Nathan Linke.
