Violet Moline, 92, of Mitchell and formally of Kimball, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2017, at Avera Queen of Peace Hospital in Mitchell.
Funeral services were Monday, Feb. 27, at the Mitchell Wesleyan Church, with burial in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation was from 1-3 p.m., with a prayer service at 2:30 p.m., on Sunday, Feb. 26, at the Bittner Funeral Chapel in Mitchell.
Violet Ordella (Fristad) Moline was born on a farm near Storla on Sept. 22, 1924, to Reinert and Olevina (Carlson) Fristad, Norwegian immigrants. She was the youngest of fourteen children. She attended rural schools near Storla and graduated from Letcher High School in 1942. Violet worked at the Mitchell Produce and later at JC Penny’s for four years.
She married Robert W. Moline, of Kimball, on Sept. 22, 1950, at Storla Lutheran Church in Storla. The couple farmed in rural Kimball until they retired in 1988 and moved to Mitchell.
Violet was a member of Lutheran Brethan Church in Platte and the Mitchell Wesleyan Church in Mitchell. She taught Sunday school for many years and was also involved in the Christian Women’s Club.
Violet is survived by one son, Kim (Brenda) Moline of Rapid City; one daughter, RaVaye Moline of Mitchell; three grandchildren; one sister, Agnes Peters of Mitchell; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; her parents; seven sisters and five brothers.
