A private service will be held at a later date. Condolences may be sent to Paul Schwader, 21157 Nature Ave., Le Mars, IA 51031.

Barb was born on June 9, 1945, in Los Angeles, Calif. to Roy and LaVonne Bailey. Very early in her life her parents divorced, and she and her mother moved to Howard, where her mother, LaVonne, met and married Paul Schwader Sr. In 1958, they moved to Mission Hill. Barb attended Mission Hill Elementary School and Gayville High School.

Shortly after leaving high school, Barb met her lifelong partner and best friend, Lois Weber, of Woonsocket. After many years of difficult jobs, they moved into Lois’ parents’ farm near Woonsocket. They loved the farm life where they had a small cow/calf herd. Barb loved her big garden. She canned all they could use and loved sharing extra with their friends; nothing went to waste. They always had chickens, turkeys, ducks, geese and guineas on the farm.

Barb is survived by her three brothers, Paul (Kathy) Schwader of LeMars, Iowa, Tom (Kathy) Schwader of Mission Hill, and John (Jean) Schwader of Crofton, Neb.; and many nieces and nephews.
