SUPT. LINDA WHITNEY presented Donald Moe with an honorary diploma Dec. 13 during the community Christmas festivities at the school.

On Thursday, Dec. 13 Donald Moe received an honorary diploma from the Sanborn Central School District.
The diploma, signed by Supt. Linda Whitney and board president Rick Miller, was awarded during the senior citizens community Christmas dinner.
To receive the honorary diploma a veteran has to make the request for the diploma and has to have served during certain periods and have been honorably discharged. Don served as a corporal in the Army.

 

 

 

    On Thursday, Dec. 13, the Sanborn Central senior citizens were invited to the annual senior citizens community Christmas dinner at the school.
Over 80 people enjoyed Christmas dinner with all the trimmings and a program of music from the pre-K and kindergarten classes.
The students were dressed in costumes such as Christmas presents, Santa Clauses, elves, reindeer and Christmas trees.

 

 

 

The Artesian First Lutheran Sunday school under the direction of Tambi Wormstadt presented the Christmas program, “‘Twas the Night Before Christmas” on Sunday morning, Dec. 16. The Sunday school students are Samantha and Casady Dean, Katie Schmit, Peyton Uecker and Alex, Aiden, Noah and Kara Wormstadt.
After the program everyone was invited to light a candle for Jesus’ birthday. The birthday song was sung and all the kids blew out the candles. Tambi Wormstadt was given a gift in appreciation of all her work with the church youth and Melissa Wormstadt was recognized for her 15 years of Sunday school leadership. Dorothy Weinberger was also honored for all her community and church volunteer work. Organists Bev Morris and Joyce Olson were presented gifts for their service to the church. Lunch was served following the program.
