Paul “Wahoo” Knigge, 78 of Woonsocket, SD, passed away Sunday, September 23rd at Prairie View Care Center, Woonsocket, SD.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Sept. 27, at 10 a.m. at St. Wilfrid Catholic Church, Woonsocket. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitations are Wednesday, Sept. 26 at the Basham Funeral Home, Woonsocket, from 5-8 p.m. with a scripture service at 7 p.m.
Paul Louis Knigge was born November 19, 1993 to Henry and Marcella (Kemptner) Knigge in Jerauld County.
He grew up on the family farm in Jerauld County where he lived and farmed most of his life. He attended Budde School. In 2005, he moved to an apartment in Woonsocket and then became a resident of Prairie View Care Center in 2010.
Paul enjoyed fishing, playing cards and spending time with his many nieces and nephews and most loved to fish with them.
He is survived by two sisters, Ila Burke of Burnsville, Minn., and Norma Knigge of Sioux Falls; one brother, Charles (Myrna) Knigge of Woonsocket; three sisters-in-law, Kathy Nelsen, Patricia Knigge and Jeannie Knigge; a brother-in-law, Gordon Kogel, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Henry (Corky), Raymond (Sonny), and Bob; two sisters, Mary Kogel and Mavis Steichen; and two brothers-in-law, Richard Burke and Carl Steichen.
