The Town ‘N Kountry Kids 4-H Club Blue Group met on Nov. 26 in the Letcher Community Center.
President Riley Zoss called the meeting to order with 12 members answering roll call. Pledges were led by Ashlee Hansen and Renee Farmer. The secretary’s report was read by Logan Moody and approved. Bailey Moody gave the treasurer’s report.
Committee reports were given as follows:
Fire Safety Dinner – The club donated 12 smoke alarms and batteries to community families.
Courthouse Christmas tree – Chloe Sewall reported that the theme would be a Christmas candy tree.
Halloween Party – A motion made and carried to donate money to the Sanborn County Food Pantry.
Letcher Vendor Committee – Meghan Chada reported that committee members will assist children to select presents and wrap them on Dec. 1 from 9 a.m.-12 p.m.
American Education Committee – Bailey Moody reported that donuts were given to all staff members on Friday and the students received ice-cream sandwiches.
Old Business: Recognition Event was discussed and thank you cards were written and signed by club members. A thank you will be sent to Stan’s Elevator for the donation of money to the club.
Online registration needs to be completed by all members.
New Business: Discussion was held on a movie night and sledding party. The club decided to do “random acts of kindness” in the community for the Holiday Season.
The club’s next meeting will be Sunday, Dec.16 at 5 p.m. It will be a potluck Christmas party with a $5 gift exchange for the members and siblings. Recreation and activities will be provided by the club officers. Members are asked to invite family members, grandparents, senior citizens and supporters of the 4-H program.
Demonstrations and talks were given by: Brady Larson – “Making Christmas Ornaments,” Madi Moody – “How to Care for Your Horse,” and Meghan Chada – “Gun Safety.”
The club members decorated the community center and tree. Pizza was served for refreshments.
