    Agnes (Barta) Kurtenbach, 78, Rapid City, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 15, 2013 at Rapid City in the Rapid City Regional Hospital.
Mass of Christian Burial was on Tuesday, August 20 in St. Therese Catholic Church at Rapid City with Father Bill Zandri as Celebrant. Burial followed in Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis.
Agnes was born on Jan. 24, 1935 at Forestburg to John and Grace (Rogers) Barta and graduated from Artesian High School.
On April 24, 1957 she married Jim Kurtenbach, Sr. at Artesian. They lived at Mitchell where their three children were born, Jim (Luke) Jr., Raymond John and Mark.
In 1972 they moved to Iowa and then to Nebraska in 1974. In 1976 they settled in Rapid City, where she cleaned motel rooms so that she could be home with her boys after school. She loved her boys very much and was proud of them.
In 1984 she went to work at Rapid City Regional Hospital in the housekeeping department. She started working at Black Hills Regional Eye Institute in 1986 and worked there for over 15 years. They terminated housekeeping in October 2001 and she began working for Dr. Wright, Cris Matthews and Dr. Slingsby. They were like a second family to her and she always said she would be ever grateful for them taking her in, such wonderful people and a great place to work.
Agnes was a member of St. Therese Church and Women of the Moose.
She is survived by a son, Jim (Luke) and wife Patty of Rapid City; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Raymond John in 1963 and Mark in 1997; husband, Jim Sr. in 1986 due to a construction accident; and a brother, Richard.

DWAYNE HANSEN

Woonsocket

    Dwayne Louis Hansen, 82, died Aug. 18, 2013 at the Veteran’s Hospital in Sioux Falls.
Funeral services will be Friday, Aug. 23 at 11 a.m. at the Basham Funeral Home, Woonsocket. Burial will be in Restlawn Memory Gardens, Huron. Visitations will be at the Basham Funeral Home Thursday, Aug. 22 from 6-8 p.m. with family members present.
Dwayne was born March 7, 1931 at Artesian to Albert and Ethel (Nisbet) Hansen. He graduated from Forestburg High School. He served in the United States Army from March 20, 1952 until February 20, 1954.
On December 15, 1966 he married Mildred Fisher in Madison.
Dwayne was a laborer during his younger years, working as a farmhand, a sheep shearer and doing road construction.   He worked for Van Dykes Supply in Woonsocket for many years and he continued to live in Woonsocket after his retirement. Dwayne enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and watching Westerns.
He is survived by his son, Scott Stoll of Balaton, Minn.; a sister-in-law, Erna Wolf of Britton; two brothers-in-law, Marvin Fisher of Spokane, Wash. and Darrold (Eva) Fisher of Rapid City; six grandchildren, three great-grandsons, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred, in 2009; his parents; two sisters,  Alberta (Boots) Linke and Lila Rumelhart; four sisters-in-law Alice Holwager, Violet Rath, Pansey Fisher and Lucille Wolf;  five brothers-in-law, Raymond Linke, Godfred Heinrich, David Wolf,  Delbert Rumelhart and Alvin Fisher.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN: That the Board of County Commissioners of Sanborn County, will meet in the Courthouse at Woonsocket, South Dakota on Tuesday, September 3rd, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. for the purpose of considering the foregoing provisional budget for the year 2013 and various items, schedules, amounts, and appropriations set forth therein and as many days thereafter as is deemed necessary until the final adoption of the budget on the 24th day of September 2013. At such time any interested person may appear either in person or by a representative and will be given an opportunity for a full and complete discussion of all purposes, objectives, items, schedules, appropriations, estimates, amounts, and matters set forth and contained in the provisional budget.
