The Town ‘N Kountry Kids 4-H Club Red Crew met on Feb. 9 in Prairie View Care Center at Woonsocket. Prior to the meeting, members spent time with the residents playing BINGO, launching paper rockets with a rocket launcher, having relay races and singing.
The meeting was called to order by President Jonathan Linke. The Flag Pledge was led by Nick Snedeker and the 4-H pledge was led by Dilyn Brooks. Corrie Snedeker led roll call with 16 members answering the question, “What is your favorite Valentine’s candy?” The secretary’s report was read by Megan and approved as presented.
Kaylee White reported on decorating the nursing home tree in a Valentine’s theme. The club talked about activities with the nursing home residents.
Under old business, the club discussed individual goals. Fruit sales packets were handed out. The money raised will be used for more 4-H grounds improvements.
Next, the club moved to new business. They discussed what they want to do for their next community service project. Leader Paula Linke discussed some changes that are coming with the judging schools.
Following the meeting, Dilyn Brooks presented a demonstration on making “yarn monsters.”
The next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, March 26 at 6 p.m. in the Community Center.
