The SCW Lady Hawks made their way into the Championship round of the 281 Conference Tourney with a 65-44 win over James Valley Monday night in Huron.
The Blackhawks started out fast and refused to give the Vikings an inch, allowing no points in the first quarter and going into the half up 18 with a score of 32-14.
SCW was led by Rachel Selland with 17 points, four steals and four assists. Senior Shelby Selland made 12 points and four assists, while her freshman sister, Myah, added up another double-double with 12 points and 13 rebounds. Myah also assisted her teammates four times. Morgan Selland put up nine points and made five assists.
The Blackhawks (8-1) will meet No. 2 seeded Highmore-Harrold (10-2), who beat Wessington Springs, 53-40, to enter the championship game. They will play Thursday evening at 6 p.m. in the Huron Arena.
The Lady Hawks have dropped to fifth place in the polls this week, following Saturday’s tough loss to Warner.
