Bethany Lutheran Hope Circle met on Wednesday, May 13 in the home of Joanie Merkle at 5:30 p.m. Ten members met for a light supper furnished by the hostess, Patti Larson. Attending were, Vicki Linke, Jacki Aymar, Kim Moody, Barb Coulthard, Evelyn Mitzel, Vickie Hines, Ruth Jensen, Sue Larson, Joanie Merkle and Patti Larson.
Following a devotional reading by Patti Larson, Vicki Linke called the meeting to order. Sue Larson, recorder and treasurer, gave a report.
Correspondence was received from Dianna Senska with a generous memorial for the Bethany Mission Quilter’s Group.
Vicki Linke reported that W/ELCA had received a donation from the Coulthard family for serving Harvey Coulthard’s funeral.
Details were discussed for the rummage sale Bethany is holding on June 6 in conjunction with the City-Wide Rummage sale. A lunch will be served from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. consisting of sloppy joes, hot dogs, chips, juice, coffee and bars. Items will be organized and marked on Friday afternoon, June 5.
Sue Larson reported on the Quilter’s work session on May 4, which resulted in eight quilts, two layettes, five health kits, 35 school kits and one donated quilt. Ruth Jensen finished two Linus quilts at home.
The Bible study was entitled, “The Church: Transforming and Reforming” from the Gather magazine.
The next meeting will be held on June 11 at Bethany Lutheran Church at 5:30 p.m. with Vicki Linke as hostess.
