Sanborn Central eighth grader wins Patriot’s Pen contest

Patriot's Pen Contest   Dakota Kidder, an eighth grader at Sanborn Central School, received first place in the 2015 Patriot’s Pen essay contest sponsored by the Mitchell Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2750 and its Auxiliary.
Kidder was presented a $100 scholarship award and Patriot’s Pen pin in a ceremony at the school. The patriotic topic of her 300-400 word essay was “What Freedom Means to Me” and was forwarded on to district competition.
