The regular meeting of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 29 was held on Nov. 2, at 6:30 p.m. in the Prairie View Apartment Solarium. President Dawn Rassel led the opening ceremonies. Chaplain Judy Stenzel led the opening prayer.
The minutes of the October meeting and treasurer’s report were given and accepted. A bill was presented for PVCC Bingo and approved for payment.
Dawn Rassel reported that the dictionaries and Constitutions were given to the students on Oct. 12.
Plans were made for the Veterans Day supper to be held Nov. 11. All members were invited to come and honor the veterans.
A newsletter from District 6 President Judy Winegar was read and discussed. Unit visits were announced. On Nov. 14 at 1:30 p.m. at the community center in Woonsocket, the Unit visits for Woonsocket, Wessington Springs, Artesian, Letcher, Gann Valley, Howard and Canova were held. All members were welcome to attend.
It was decided to not meet during January or February due to weather concerns.
A Christmas tree will be decorated and placed in the Courthouse honoring veterans.
Following the closing ceremonies, President Dawn adjourned the meeting. The next meeting will be Dec. 1 at 6:30 p.m.
Bingo helper for November was Mary Kay Regynski following the Veterans Day supper starting at 7 p.m. Cookies for PVCC Bingo will be furnished by Barb Maurice and Cathy Hegg.
