Forestburg held their fourth annual Melon Festival on Saturday, Aug. 20, with an estimated 400 people in attendance.
There were over 60 entries in this year’s car show, an exponential increase from previous years. Many speculated it was due to the beautiful weather, as it had been extremely warm during previous Melon Fests.
Attendees were also able to participate in a bean bag toss tournament, face painting and a silent auction, along with a bouncy house for kids to enjoy.
A pork loin sandwich meal, including Forestburg melon, was served, and a dance was held in the evening, with the local band, “Scotty and the Melon Heads” playing.
Money raised from each year’s Melon Fest goes towards Forestburg’s road funds.
