Mayor Chada called the meeting to order with Hoffman, Knutson, and Meier in attendance.
Karen Pooley with the Mitchell Food Pantry met with the board to give information regarding Feeding South Dakota.
A motion was made by Hoffman, seconded by Knutson, carried, to approve the August 23rd, 2016 minutes as read.
A motion was made by Knutson, seconded by Hoffman, carried, to approve the financials as presented.
Old Business: A meeting with the Town’s lawyer was held on August 29th at 8:00 a.m. at his office in Mitchell. They went over nuisance, contracts/leases for rental of the Community Center and past due accounts.
A complaint about a nuisance in Letcher was reviewed. Pictures have been taken, and the letter has been sent.
Discussion was held on water meters that are not working.
New Business: Discussion was held on a deadline for the maintenance worker that was hired. His deadline is September 26th, 2016.
Discussion was held on the rentals of the community center to make sure everyone has been billed correctly.
CorInsurance sent paperwork regarding what needs to be done update the insurance.
Just a reminder, please tell people to please come and fill out a nuisance complaint form.
A motion was made by Hoffman, seconded by Knutson, carried, to approve the following claims for payment:
WATER/SEWER: Hoffman Digging and Well Repair – $600.00 lowered manholes, Northwestern Energy $24.51 – electric water plant;
GENERAL: Larry Lyle $157.23 – payroll for mowing the town, Morgan Theeler Law Office $74.55 professional fees, Northwestern Energy $122.11 electric ball park, $278.17 electric Community Center, $21.92 electric Rossy Park, Angie Meier $24.95 adobe software.
The next board meeting will be held on September 20th, 2016 at the City Office.
