The deadline for filing nominating petitions is March 29, 2016, at 5:00 p.m.  If a petition is mailed by registered mail by March 29, 2016, at 5:00 p.m., it shall be considered filed.
Nominating petitions for the offices of:
County Commissioner District #2 – four-year term;
County Commissioner District #4 – four-year term;
County Treasurer – four-year term;
County States Attorney – four-year term;
Delegates to Republican Party state convention;
Delegates to Democratic Party state convention;
Precinct committeeman Republican Party;
Precinct committeewoman Republican Party;
shall be filed in the office of the county auditor located in the county courthouse during regular business hours.
Nominating petitions for the offices of:
U.S. Senator – six-year term;
U.S. Representative – two-year term;
State Representative District 8 – two-year term;
State Senator District 8 – two-year term;
Heartland Consumer Power District Director – six-year term;
shall be filed in the office of the Secretary of State, State Capitol Building, Pierre, SD  57501, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
