The Sanborn Central/Woonsocket FFA Chapter attended the 88th SD State FFA Convention in Brookings with the theme “We Own It,” April 10-12. The Convention was led by the State FFA Officer team, including SC/W alumnus and State Treasurer Jonathan Linke.
The Chapter had a very successful convention and represented their communities well. Four chapter members received their State FFA Degrees. The State FFA Degree is the highest degree the South Dakota State Association can bestow upon a member. FFA members must keep accurate SAE (Supervised Agriculture Experience) record books, complete the State FFA Degree application and meet all qualifications in order to be awarded the State FFA Degree. Receiving their State Degrees were Tyler Johnson, Lacey Christensen, Dillon Moore and Garrett Larson.
District 4 FFA Reporter Aaron Linke served as part of the Courtesy Corps for the State Convention.
Past SC/W FFA Member Clay Edwards was recognized as a past State FFA President, and SC/W FFA Advisor Shane Gross was recognized as past State FFA Treasurer.
Aaron, Nathan and Megan Linke had the honor of introducing their brother Jonathan to give his retiring address “The Little Things.” His presentation focused on the difference that the little things can make in your life.
Jonathan presented his parents, Henry and Paula, with a plaque to commemorate their receiving the South Dakota FFA Honorary State Degree.
