As of Friday, April 1, Edina-based Welcov Healthcare is operating Prairie View Care Center. With the acquisition, the name of the 52-bed facility was changed to Prairie View Healthcare Community.
Prairie View will continue its commitment to quality care and Welcov plans to share its expertise and innovative approaches in providing progressive health care to the growing number of patients who require post-acute care.
Welcov Healthcare has over 60 skilled nursing, assisted living, independent living and home health agencies in seven Plains states. Welcov is familiar with the region with 14 communities or agencies located in other parts of South Dakota.
“We are excited to build the Welcov family, and look forward to serving the people of Woonsocket and its surrounding area. Our operational and clinical teams are committed to finding innovative approaches to care,” says Tom Boerboom, President of Welcov Healthcare.
Administrator Kayla Evans believes the move will enhance care at Prairie View. “We will be able to draw from the resources and experiences of a much wider community. Being part of Welcov will allow for many more opportunities to provide specialized care for our patients and residents,” she adds.
