Letcher American Legion Auxiliary Post #93 met on Monday, April 10, at 7 p.m.
President Sandi Ruml called the meeting to order and also led the opening prayer. Roll call was answered by four members present. March meeting minutes were read by Amy Howard. Treasurer’s report was read by President Ruml for Kathy.
Old Business: Past due memberships and how to continue to meet our membership goals were discussed. Poppy posters have an April 22 due date. Spring District meeting was in Kimball on April 2, with President Ruml, Edith Moe and Amy Howard attending. President Ruml is finishing up with the picture portion of the annual report and then will submit it. She has also completed the Give 10 to Education Report and will send it in.
The National President for Auxiliary will be in South Dakota, April 23-25. Members from all over the state will present her with a framed picture of Dignity (in Chamberlain) with names signed on the photo mat.
Girls State orientation was held April 1; we didn’t have any girls attend. Our Poppy donation has been sent in.
April 15 is our Annual Salad Luncheon from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the Letcher Community Center. Everyone is welcome to bring a friend; we will also be having a silent auction. Sandi will be calling for donations of salads and desserts.
New Business: President Ruml will call the school to see when the awards night will be held so we can present an award for the Americanism Essay winners. Congratulations to Myah Selland and Haley Zoss.
There was also discussion for nominating new committee officers, catering for funerals, distributing poppy containers and setting a date for the Memorial Day service, all of which will be tabled until a future meeting.
President Ruml led us in a closing prayer and the meeting was adjourned.
The next meeting will be May 8 at 7 p.m. with Sara Adams as the hostess.
