The Letcher American Legion Auxiliary held their annual Talent Night and Pie Social Thursday night with approximately 50 people in attendance for a great night of music, stories and pie and ice cream.
There were singing performances by Pastor Tom Johnson, Laura Moody Neugebauer, Melissa Hieb Miller and her daughter, Taylor of Madison (Melissa is the daughter of Dee Clarambeau Hieb), and Taylor Downing and her daughter, Jackson, of Jacksonville, Fla. (Taylor is the granddaughter of Delbert and Kathy Northrup). Joyce Swagger and Dvonne Hansen on piano and harmonica led the crowd with an old fashioned sing-along. Karen Hoffman kept the crowd entertained with stories and jokes and Sandi Ruml read several readings.
The surprise for the night was some good old Johnny Cash songs by Hadley Moody, who was home from Nashville, Tenn., visiting for awhile. We were grateful to coax him into singing for us, too.
