The Woonsocket Community Club is sponsoring the next United Blood Services blood drive this Friday, Dec. 15, from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Woonsocket Community Center.
Donating blood is the perfect gift during the holiday season, as the need goes up during this time of year, and only when a significant number of people donate on a regular basis can a community maintain adequate blood supplies. By giving blood, a donor helps replenish this precious resource used by a neighbor, relative, friend or even a complete stranger.
Volunteer blood donors must be at least 16 years old and be in good health, and need to bring photo identification when registering. There is free cholesterol testing with every donation.
For an appointment to donate, contact Gay Swenson at (605) 796-4272 or go to www.bloodhero.com, sponsor code: Woonsocket
