Nov. 9 at 9 a.m. the students of Sanborn Central will present a Veterans Day program. There will be patriotic music from the band, and Trent Kingsbury and Koby Larson will speak. All veterans are invited to attend the program.

The St. Wilfrid High School Youth Group are excited for their Confirmation service project, a soup and sandwich supper and fun night on Sunday, Nov. 5, at the St. Wilfrid Church basement.
As the group discussed ideas for a service project, they reminisced about the Turkey Shoot that they had enjoyed while growing up, an event that was last held in 2011, prior to the beginning of the multi-year basement renovation project. The basement was finished this past winter, and is once again back to full function, being used for activities, classes, and events including the serving of food.
The group decided to do a mini version of the Turkey Shoot, that includes a meal, Bingo and kids’ games. A soup and sandwich meal will be served from 4:30-7 p.m. Kids’ games, such as a cake walk and fish pond will begin at 6 p.m., and Bingo will begin at 7 p.m. During Bingo, there will be four “special” games where the prizes will be turkeys. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Sanborn County Food Pantry and the Mitchell Love Feast.
The community is invited to attend for any of the events!
