Woonsocket native Tricia Brisbine of Brooklyn Park, Minn., has been appointed as a Family Delegate for the Minnesota Department of Health Program and Task Force.
In this capacity, Brisbine will help develop the Association of Maternal and Child Health Program on a national level. The AMCHP is a national resource working to improve the health of women and children.
Tricia is the daughter of Judy Brisbine of Woonsocket and the late, Dick Brisbine.

Ducks Unlimited will host a demonstration tour and lunch in Sanborn County on Wednesday, Nov. 1.
The event will feature DU habitat restoration activities, including restored Prairie Pothole wetlands and grassland cover. The tour will also focus on soil health practices implemented on adjacent cropland, including cover crop rotations. The current cover crop includes winter-hardy species that were aerially applied over standing soybeans.
The Nov. 1 event runs from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and will be located six miles south and two miles east of Woonsocket.

The regular meeting of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 29 met in the Prairie View Apartments solarium on Oct. 2, at 6:30 p.m. President Dawn Rassel led the opening ceremonies. Chaplain Judy Stenzel led the opening prayer.
Mary Regynski read the minutes of the September meeting and Treasurer Barb Maurice gave the treasurer’s report, which was approved. Obligations and donations were paid as approved.
A membership report was given by Mary Regynski with 23 sent in. The goal this year is 79.
The September and October newsletters from Linda Holmes was read and discussed. Make a Difference Day is Oct. 28. This year’s President’s Project is to purchase 12 mountain bikes for the Hot Springs VA Home. The Junior Project for this year is “Adopt a Vet.”
Carrie Howard was appointed to make plans for Make a Difference Day, Oct. 28.
The Unit will host a group meeting for units to visit with the District 6 president. The units included are Woonsocket, Artesian, Canova, Howard, Letcher and Wessington Springs. It will be held at the Woonsocket Community Center on Oct. 29 at 2 p.m.
It was decided to hold the November meeting following the meeting on Oct. 29 at the center.
Following the closing ceremonies, President Dawn adjourned the meeting.
Cookies for PVHC Bingo in October will be furnished by Dorthy Foos and Tonya Miller.
