Sanborn County Commissioners met in regular session on Tuesday, December 28, 2016, at 9:00 a.m. with Chairman Ebersdorfer, presiding. Other members present were: Ohlrogge, Blindauer, S. Larson, and P. Larson. Also present was Auditor Larson. Motion by S. Larson, seconded by P. Larson, to accept the minutes as presented. All ayes. Motion carried.
HIGHWAY
Jim Luthi, representing the highway department, met with some concerns about leave time and overtime.  Lee Goergen, Highway Superintendent/Weed Supervisor, presented figures on overlaying Road 19-0 (Mt. Vernon Oil).
TRANSFER
Motion by Ohlrogge, seconded P. Larson, to transfer funds per 2016 budget from General Fund to Road and Bridge in the amount of $895,368 and to Emergency Management in the amount of $12,123.  All ayes.  Motion carried.
ASSIGN FUNDS
Motion by Ohlrogge, seconded by Blindauer, to assign existing funds from the General Fund in the amount of $75,000 for improvements to the courthouse, including refinishing floors and countertops, work on the windows and wood work, and a lift chair; $100,000 for court trials not budgeted for; and $575,000 for overlay on Road # 9-0 (Mt. Vernon oil). All ayes.  Motion carried.
SUPPLEMENT BUDGET
Motion by Blindauer, seconded by S. Larson, to supplement Emergency Management for grant money received in the amount of $9,717.00. All ayes. Motion carried.
CONTINGENCY TRANSFERS
Motion by P. Larson, seconded by Ohlrogge, to transfer the following amounts from contingency to the department named to balance for the year: States Attorney $720.00 and Courthouse $2,310.00. All ayes. Motion carried. The board commended many departments for staying within budget.
