A FLAG flies in the yard of Glenn Hohn of rural Alpena, as members of the Woonsocket Fire Department extinguish a small grassfire, which apparently spread from a burn pile. The wind was blowing in the right direction to spread the fire away from the home, but firemen had the fire in hand before it went far, anyway.
A burn pile near the Glenn Hohn home south of Alpena started a small grassfire Saturday afternoon, in unseasonably 85 degree heat and very seasonable winds. Woonsocket firemen were called to the fire around 5 p.m. and were quickly able to extinguish the blaze.
