
Ms. Emily Workman of the Great Plains Zoo in Sioux Falls, holds a Kenyan sand boa snake for the first and second graders of Sanborn Central School to pet and observe the difference in the scales on his skin as different parts of his body are used for different things in his habitat.
Through a grant provided by the Sammons Financial Group, Sanborn Central students were treated with a visit from a staff member and “zoo friends” from the Great Plains Zoo in Sioux Falls. On Thursday, Sept. 27, Emily Workman of the Great Plains Zoo came to Sanborn Central School to talk to the students in grades Pre-K through eighth grade about different topics regarding the zoo animals she brought with her.
