The SCW Blackhawks varsity volleyball team participated in the Hanson Early Bird Volleyball Tournament on Tuesday, Aug. 27, and Thursday, Aug. 29. They played Avon in the first round on Tuesday night and lost two hard-fought sets with scores of 19-25 and 18-25. They went back to Alexandria on Thursday to take on the host team of the Hanson Beaverettes. That game ended in a loss for the Blackhawks in two with scores of 11-25 and 18-25. Their last game of the tournament was against Freeman Academy/Marion, and the Blackhawks came out on top earning seventh place with set scores of 25-11 and 25-9.
