Delbert B. Pearson, 90, of Forestburg, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2019, at the Wessington Springs Hospital.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 16, at the Woonsocket Community Center with Rev. Don Grubb officiating. Visitation was held Friday, Nov. 15, at the Basham Funeral Chapel in Woonsocket. Burial was in the St. Wilfrid Catholic Cemetery with military rites by the Woonsocket American Legion Post 29.
Delbert Pearson was born Nov. 9, 1929, to Bert and Ella (Maurer) Pearson on the family farm north of Forestburg.
Delbert served in the U.S. Army. He married Anna Berens on Nov. 17, 1960, lived on the family farm and raised their family. Delbert moved from the farm in 2015 to Prairie View Healthcare Center in Woonsocket. He was a member of the Winnebago Club and loved traveling with his family and meeting new people. He enjoyed fishing and hunting (especially pheasant hunting), hosting family and friends every year.
Delbert is survived by his children, Susan (Jeff) Larson of Mitchell, Robert (Laura) Pearson of Forestburg, Karen (Kregg) Krueger of Woonsocket, and Brenda (Jason) Henning of Lincoln, Neb.; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and sister, Eunice Olson of Mitchell.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Anna, on Feb. 6, 1990; sister, Ellen Alt; brother, Carl Pearson; and a sister in infancy.
