Sanborn County Commissioners met in regular session on Tuesday, August 20, 2019, at 9:00 a.m. with Chairman Jeff Ebersdorfer presiding. Other members present were: Ray Ohlrogge, Gary Blindauer, and Paul Larson. Also present was Auditor Diane Larson. Absent was Steve Larson. Motion by P. Larson, seconded by Ohlrogge, to approve the minutes as presented. All ayes. Motion carried.
HIGHWAY
Stacy Mendenhall, Highway Superintendent, and Sheri Kogel, Administrative Assistant, met with the board. Kogel presented Road Approach Applications for Jared Grassel and Vincent Effling. Motion by P. Larson, seconded by Blindauer, to approve a Road Approach Permit for Jared Grassel on 402nd Ave. Road 20 in Silver Creek Township. All ayes. Motion carried. Motion by P. Larson, seconded by Blindauer, to approve a Road Approach Permit for Vincent Effling on 415th Ave. Road #25 in Afton Township. All ayes. Motion carried. Motion by Ohlrogge, seconded by Blindauer, to supplement the Road & Bridge budget $92,000.00 for the road grader sold and use the money to pay against the debt on the two 2016 machines. All ayes. Motion carried. Kogel presented the Five-Year County Highway and Bridge Improvement Plan for 2020-2024. Motion by Ohlrogge, seconded by Blindauer, to approve the plan. All ayes. Motion carried. A public meeting will be held on September 3rd at 1:00 P.M. in the commissioner’s room to present the first draft of the plan.
TRACTOR
Auditor Larson presented a quote for a new tractor for lawn work and snow removal. Motion by Blindauer, seconded by P. Larson, to purchase the tractor for $6,200.00. All ayes. Motion carried.
DRAINAGE
Darren Swenson met with the board to discuss drainage on 398th Ave in Section 26 of Woonsocket Township.
COMPUTER CONTRACT
Nathan Snyder from Tech Solutions met with the board to discuss the options for updating the computers. Several of the computers need to be upgraded to Windows 2010. Snyder explained the differences between doing a service agreement with Tech Solutions and buying all new computers. After much discussion, motion by Ohlrogge, seconded by P. Larson, to do the service agreement for a period of three years. All ayes. Motion carried.
AMBULANCE PERSONNEL
Auditor Larson reported that Richard George will be added to the Ambulance Roster as EVOC personnel.
