Sanborn County Commissioners met in regular session on Tuesday, November 19, 2019, at 9:00 a.m. with Chairman Jeff Ebersdorfer presiding. Other members present were: Ray Ohlrogge, Gary Blindauer, and Steve Larson. Absent was Paul Larson. Also present was Auditor Diane Larson. Motion by Ohlrogge, seconded by Blindauer, to approve the minutes as presented. All ayes. Motion carried.
HIGHWAY
Stacy Mendenhall, Highway Superintendent, and Sheri Kogel, Administrative Assistant, met with the board. Road conditions and equipment for the winter months were discussed. Motion by S. Larson, seconded by Blindauer, for the Highway Department to work a five-day week from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. each day starting December 2nd. All ayes. Motion carried.
LIQUOR LICENSE
Motion by S. Larson, seconded by Ohlrogge, to approve the following liquor licenses:
John Doren – Retail (On-Sale) Liquor and Package (Off Sale) Liquor – DBA/Doren’s Bar;
Country Pumper – Retail (On-Sale) Wine – Louise Alt;
All Ayes. Motion carried.
LONGEVITY PAY
Motion by Blindauer, seconded by S. Larson, to pay longevity pay at $25.00 per year for employment of five years or more. All ayes. Motion carried.
AMBULANCE BILLS
Auditor Larson presented ambulance bills in the amount of $2,434.00 and prisoner confinement bills in the amount of $575.00 for Indigent #19-1. The person has passed away and does not have an estate. Motion by Ohlrogge, seconded by S. Larson, to declare these bills uncollectible and to release any liens associated with them. All ayes. Motion carried.
