The Sanborn County 4-H Town ‘N Kountry Kids Red group had a few members participate in the 40th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade held in Sioux Falls on March 16. The picture to the right shows Tatiana, Corey, and Brigitte Roberts riding in the parade, proudly representing Sanborn County 4-H.
The festivities commenced at the staging area which had live music and participants dancing in the streets while decorating their vehicles. Onlookers made a point to stop at the 4-H truck to praise the kids for giving the 4-H organization recognition at the event.
The parade itself was a fun and lively experience according to the Roberts kids. As they made their way through downtown Sioux Falls the crowd called out “Way to go 4-H!” and “Look, it’s 4-H!” among other complimentary remarks. “There were so many people clapping, waving and cheering. It was great,” said Brigitte. The kids felt honored to have had the opportunity to celebrate their heritage with their love of 4-H. When asked if they would participate next year, all three kids unanimously said, “Definitely!”
