The Woonsocket Board of Education met in special session on June 26th, 2019, at 12:00 p.m. in the Distance Learning Room of the Woonsocket School. Members attending were: Jason White, Neal Hiemstra and Lisa Snedeker. Todd Olinger and Jodi Doering were absent. Others in attendance were Superintendent Rod Weber and Chris Selland. The purpose of the special meeting was to approve the 2018-2019 budget supplements and conduct end of fiscal year business. The meeting was called to order at 12:00 p.m.
On a motion by Neal Hiemstra, seconded by Lisa Snedeker, the Board approved the meeting agenda as presented with one additional item to come before the Board. Motion carried.
Motion was made by Lisa Snedeker, with a second by Neal Hiemstra, to approve the following 2018-2019 budget supplements:
General Fund:

On a motion by Lisa Snedeker, seconded by Neal Hiemstra, the Board approved the following hires for the 2019-2020 school year: Carie Fry – Special Education Aid ($18,500.00 per year), Alecia Schley – Title 1 Aid ($18,500.00 per year), and Judy Hinker – Part Time Title 1 Aid ($14.00 per hour, approximately 20 hours per week). The two Title 1 Aids were added due to a substantial increase in Title 1 funding allocations for the Woonsocket District for the 2019-2020 year, but it is noted that these positions are tied to federal funding and contingent on the continuance of the increased funding. Motion carried.
The Board approved the 2019-2020 Woonsocket Title and IDEA (Special Education) applications for federal funding on a motion by Neal Hiemstra, with a second by Lisa Snedeker. Motion carried.
There being no further business to come before the Board, the June 26th, 2019, regular board meeting of the Woonsocket Board of Education was adjourned at 12:12 p.m. on a motion by Neal Hiemstra, with a second by Lisa Snedeker. Motion carried.
