Camden Jost takes control of a consolation round match against an opponent from Minneota, Minn. Jost won the match 12-7.

On Tuesday, Feb. 5, the WSWWW wrestling squad traveled to Miller for a quadrangular with Miller/Highmore-Harrold, Kimball/White Lake/Platte-Geddes (KWLPG) and Ipswich/Leola/Bowdle (ILB). WSWWW was first matched up with ILB, and they won with a final score of 62-12. They then wrestled KWLPG and lost a tough battle with a final score of 26-48. Their final match of the night was with Miller/Highmore-Harrold and WSWWW finished strong with a final score of 66-3 for the win.

The Huron Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 9, was the last regular-season tournament for the WSWWW wrestlers. There were 11 teams, including five A schools, and the WSWWW brought home fifth place, just nine points behind fourth-place Huron.

The WSWWW wrestling team now prepares for the 3B Region Tournament this Saturday, Feb. 16 in Parkston. The top four wrestlers in each weight class will earn a trip to the state wrestling tournament, which takes place Feb. 22-23 in Rapid City.
