Sealed bids for the Woonsocket School Freezer Addition will be received by the Woonsocket School District 55-4, at the Woonsocket School District, 101 N. 2nd Avenue, Woonsocket, South Dakota, 57385, up until 4:30 P.M. CDT, on Monday, March 30, 2020, at which time said bids will be publicly opened and read aloud, and tabulated by the Architect at 4:30 P.M., of said day, with said bids to be presented to the School Board at either the next succeeding special or regular meeting of the Board, all in accordance with Board policy.   

Bids will be received for the following contract:

Woonsocket School Freezer Addition, Woonsocket School District 55-44, Woonsocket, South Dakota

All bids shall be made in accordance with Forms, Drawings and Project Manual attached to, and made a part of, the proposed contract documents. Contract Documents and Specifications are on file at the office of Koch Hazard Architects, 431 North Phillips Avenue, Suite 200, Sioux Falls, South Dakota 57104-5933 and at the Administration Office of Woonsocket School District, 101 N. 2nd Avenue, Woonsocket, South Dakota, 57385. They may be examined at both locations but must be obtained from CADD Engineering, 615 South Lyons Avenue, Sioux Falls, SD 57106-3996, 605-332-2550.

Hard copies of the project bidding documents are available at CADD Engineering for a non-refundable fee payable to CADD Engineering.  Contact CADD Engineering for fee.

Electronic project documents are available from Koch Hazard Architects at no cost.

Each bid must contain a Certified Check, a Cashier’s Check or Draft for five percent (5%) of the amount of the total bid items, such Check or Draft to be certified or issued by either a State or National Bank, and payable to the School District, or in lieu thereof, a Bid Bond for ten percent (10%) of the amount of the bid, such Bid Bond to be issued by a surety authorized to do business in the state and payable to the School District. Said Certified Check, Draft or Bid Bond guarantees the execution of a contract and shall be held by the School District until said contract is executed. SDCL5-18A.

All bids and contracts shall be made in accordance with, and subject to SDCL 5-18A, 5-21, 5-22 and the provisions set forth in the specifications.

The School Board reserves the right to reject any and all bids or parts thereof, and to waive any irregularities.

By virtue of statutory authority, preference will be given to labor, materials, products and supplies found or produced within the State of South Dakota

A resident bidder is allowed a preference as against the bid of any bidder from any other state enforcing or having a preference for resident bidders, equal to such preference.

A pre-bid meeting will be held on Wednesday, March 18, 2020 at Woonsocket School District Office, 101 N. 2nd Avenue, Woonsocket, South Dakota at 1:00 PM.
