On Friday last week, the seventh-grade class from Woonsocket went to the Sanborn County courthouse to help the food pantry put together the boxes of food they give each year to families in need in order to make sure they have food for a holiday meal. Together they helped put together 114 boxes for families from all over Sanborn County.
In lieu of Christmas gifts, the Woonsocket Elementary teachers asked families to bring donations for the Sanborn County Food Pantry. On Monday, Dec. 21, the fifth-grade class took all the items the students had collected to the courthouse to make their donation on behalf of the students and staff.
