The Sioux Valley Cycle Club near Renner has their youth racing season going, and they put together a race on Sunday, June 5, where Shay and Sury Bechen competed. Shay finished fourth/fifth in 85 age 12-15, and he got fifth place overall. He earned fifth/sixth in superminis and got sixth overall. He also raced in the 250C and finished 16th and ninth and received 12th overall. 

Shay’s sister, Sury, finished fifth/sixth in women’s novice and sixth overall. Her final race was in the 65 and she earned 15th and 14th, finishing in 13th overall. 

It is early in the biking season, so the area kids, and some adults, who take part in these events will have more to report as the season progresses.
