On Tuesday, Jan. 10, the Kimball/White Lake (KWL) WiLdKats came to Woonsocket for a doubleheader against the Blackhawks, and things did get a little “wild” with the Blackhawks winning three of the four games and the varsity boys’ game going into two overtimes to end the evening.
The night started with the junior varsity girls winning a good game with a final score of 35-23.
The JV boys followed with the second Blackhawk win that night with a final score of 34-27.
The varsity girls were up next and easily won their game with a final score of 60-33.
The varsity boys ended the night with a riveting game that was tied at 16 at the half and went into double overtime before the Blackhawks left the gym with a tough loss and a final score of 59-66.
The Lady Blackhawks improved to 4-2 for the season going into the 281 Conference Tournament over the weekend. The Blackhawks fell to 2-3 prior to their first round of the 281 Tournament. Please see the additional story started on the front page of this issue for first-round tournament coverage.
