The SCW boys’ basketball team hosted the Mitchell Christian Golden Eagles on Thursday, Feb. 15, for a doubleheader in the Sanborn Central gym.
It was a good, hard-fought game with a half-time score of 22-14, Blackhawks, but then became just a two-point advantage for the Blackhawks going into the fourth quarter, 35-33. However, SCW held on and won with a final score of 47-38.
Trent Kingsbury had a big night with a triple-double to lead the Blackhawks with 14 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 assists. Tater Moody helped out with seven points and 12 rebounds. Devon Weber had nine points, and Jared Goldammer chipped in eight. Trey Weber tossed in six points and four steals, and Spens Schlicht added three points to round out the scoring for the Blackhawks.
The SCW boys have their last game of the regular season on Friday, Feb. 23 in Wessington Springs against the Spartans. They go to that game with a 14-5 record for the season, thus far.
