The Woonsocket American Legion had an amazing night at their second Texas Hold ‘Em Poker Tournament this past weekend with 41 players.
The evening began with a pulled pork sandwich supper served by the American Legion Auxiliary. The tournament was played using new poker tables built through many volunteer hours by Garth Swenson, Jeff Hotchkiss, Gary Swenson, and Dick Regynski. Tournament players broke in the newly purchased poker chips funded through a generous donation by First National Bank. Dealers for the night were Andy Larson, Allan Westendorf, Donna Tiede, Dick Regynski and Dave Williams.
Congratulations to the winners of the tournament, pictured above with one of the new tables, left to right: high hand – Andy Larson, first place – Jason Bruce, second place – Dave Williams, and third place – Joseph Vetter.
Proceeds of this fundraiser will help the American Legion Post 29 support various activities in the community. The next tournament is being planned for October.
