Sanborn County Commissioners met as a Board of Equalization on Tuesday, April 12, 2022, at 9:00 a.m. with Chairman Jeff Ebersdorfer presiding. Other members present were Steve Larson, Paul Larson, Gary Blindauer, and Rod Weber. Auditor Kami Moody and Penny Farris, Director of Equalization, also met with the board.
Oaths were taken by the Board of Equalization.
Karen Krueger, County Treasurer, reported that she received thirteen applications, which qualified for the elderly and disabled assessment freeze. Motion by Blindauer, seconded by Weber, to approve the applications. Motion carried.
Farris reported six disabled veterans tax freeze requests. Motion by S. Larson, seconded by P. Larson, to approve the requests. Motion carried.
Motion by S. Larson, seconded by P. Larson, to deed the property that is listed as a strip of land 850’ x 66’ in SW/4 36-107-61 in Silver Creek Township, to the adjoining landowners Troy and Amy Olson. Motion carried.
Motion by S. Larson, seconded by Blindauer, to approve the Owner-Occupied Status for Jackson Grassel and Jason Coenen. Motion carried.
Motion by Blindauer, seconded by Weber, to approve the lowering of assessed value for Lots 7-8 & S ½ Lot 9; Blk 14 OP for Jill Olson. Motion carried.
Discussion was held on the soil rating for NW/4 in 4-107-61. Motion by Blindauer, seconded by Weber, to approve the appeal for Marilyn Nissen. Motion carried.
Discussion was held on the job performance for the yearly evaluation for the Director of Equalization.
Motion by S. Larson, seconded by Blindauer, to adjourn the meeting. The next regularly scheduled commissioner meeting will be April 19, 2022.
