The regular meeting of the Woonsocket City Council was called to order by Mayor Richard Reider at 7:00 p.m., Monday, September 12, 2022, with the following members present: Arin Boschee, Derek Foos, Joel Rassel and Darin Kilcoin. Brandon Goergen and John Baysinger were absent.

The council discussed the bid opening for lots thirteen through twenty-four inclusive, block fourteen, original plat of the city of Woonsocket for the purpose of building duplexes. With no bids being submitted, they had declared the land as “no sale.”
The council discussed an update on the code enforcement officer progress.
The council discussed the installation of cameras.
The council discussed the statue for the community club.
The council discussed picnic tables.
The council discussed generators.
The council discussed lift station updates.
The council discussed ordinance updates.
The council discussed the new addition. A request from Marilyn Thomas of Macomb, Mich., was accepted.
The council discussed dogs running at large. Letters will be sent to homeowners.
Motion by D. Foos, seconded by Rassel, to approve the second reading of increasing water and sewer rates. Motion carried.
The council discussed the zoning board recommendations on not rezoning residential areas to ag. The council agreed that this is not in the best interest of the City.
The council discussed the discretionary tax formula. The city is waiting on the attorney to write up the required documents.
NEW BUSINESS
Motion by Rassel, seconded by Kilcoin, to approve the 2023 budget with the following increases to wages: Superintendent – $25.60 per hour, Maintenance – $22.00 per hour, Finance Officer – $18.00 per hour, Part-Time Maintenance – $1,005.00 per month. Motion carried.
The council discussed the 2023 police contract. No changes were made at this time.
With no further business to be discussed, motion by Boschee, seconded by D. Foos, to adjourn the meeting. The meeting was adjourned at 8:50 p.m.
