Woonsocket American Legion Auxiliary

The regular meeting of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit #29 met on Jan. 8 at 6:30 p.m. in the community center with President Dawn Rassel presiding.
Chaplain Judy Stenzel led the opening prayer and Marian Andersen, music chairman, led the National Anthem.
The December minutes and treasurer’s report were given and accepted.  Membership is now at 69; goal is 94.
The November newsletter from District 6 President Theresa Maeschen was read. Everyone is encouraged to help with membership.
It was decided to make a donation to Special Olympics instead of selling candy bars. A donation of $50 will be sent in.
The dictionaries and Constitution pamphlets have been given to the school children.
Christmas cards were sent to veterans at PVCC and shut-ins as well as Auxiliary members who are shut-ins.
Following the closing ceremonies, President Dawn Rassel adjourned the meeting.
The next meeting will be Feb. 5. Bingo helper for February is Karen Krueger and she is also furnishing bars.
Cookies for PVCC Bingo in February will be furnished by Jean Steichen and Linda Kilcoin.
