By Owen Anderson, County Executive Director for Jerauld and Sanborn counties
CRP Mid-Contract Management (MCM) Requirements: MCM has been met on contracts and contiguous contracts where 40-50 percent of the acreage requiring MCM was hayed or grazed as a result of 2012 Emergency Haying/Grazing. The vast majority of Sanborn and Jerauld participants who took advantage of 2012 Emergency Hay/Graze will have met the MCM requirements for their next scheduled MCM.
Participants can voluntarily conduct MCM, at their own expense, on unhayed portions at the regularly scheduled time. Voluntary activity is limited to light disking, harrowing or prescribed burn. Baling/burning of bales is not allowed.
Waivers: If less than 40 percent of the acreage requiring MCM was emergency hayed/grazed the participant may request a waiver to not perform additional management activities.
Interest Rates: Marketing Assistant Loans 1.125 percent; Farm Storage Facility Loans 1.375 percent, 2.0 percent and 2.25 percent for seven, 10 and 12 year notes, respectively.
