Let me be perfectly clear on this issue. I love to say the word “peep,” but I want nothing to do with eating them.
While raking the yard (between wind gusts), a white pickup pulled into the yard belonging to the NW Star Pipeline. A man stepped out and said, “Hello.” I soberly replied, “My mom said I wasn’t supposed to talk to strangers.” Without missing a beat he replied, “Well, that was a long time ago.” I may have to sabotage that pipeline — err!
Speaking of wind — which I detest and which will interrupt my bike riding and scooter plans. Ever helpful — it’s been so windy I had to tie a rope on Claude attached to a large rock. (Unfortunately for him, I put it around his neck.)
The best thing for me about Facebook is reading the funny quotes and sayings. The funniest post this week was from our local wit, Jim Steichen. He threw this out for us to laugh about. “Have you ever woke up in the morning with someone and realized you had made a mistake. Ladies, I can give you that feeling every day.” Yes, Jim gave me permission to print this.
My granddaughter, Aysia, brought Jerimiah, a little five-year-old boy, back to Woony to enjoy Easter with us. I so enjoy seeing the world through a child’s eyes, which allows me to go to cartoon movies and bounce on trampolines. The best part of Easter was going up to Sandy Selland’s and letting Jerimiah see her menagerie — goats of every color and size, alpacas, llamas, sheep and donkeys. Being a city kid, this was Jerimiah’s first time with animals. Sandy brought out the animal crackers and it brought on a full-fledged goat assault! Sandy was quite a fashion statement in pajama bottoms and cowboy boots. (I should talk since I’m often out opening gates for Claude in my fluffy pink robe.)
On the way home I was mimicking the goats by going “Bleeah, bleeah.” Jerimiah looked at me and asked, “Do you know goat talk?” I replied, “Just a couple of words.” He, he, he.
I felt like a success as a person when Jeremiah kissed me goodbye and said, “Grandma, can I live with you? I don’t want to go home.” Major heart melt!
