The TL Rangers 4-H Club met on Sunday, Nov. 29 at the home of their leader, Tami Ziebart. The meeting was called to order by past president Mariah Jost. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Clay Olinger and the 4-H Pledge was led by Blake Howard. Roll call was taken by answering the question, “What would you like for Christmas?” All current club members were present for this meeting and a new member, Jordan Wieting, was welcomed.
New officers were elected and they are as follows: President Tyler Eddy, Vice President Taylor Lindsey, Secretary Blake Howard, and Treasurer Carver Lindsey. Recreation Committee is Camden Jost, Clay Olinger, Kade Olinger, Tyson Eddy and Jordan Wieting.
Club goals and community service projects were discussed. The club decided on a goal of every member entering projects in at least two different project areas at Achievement Days this year. The club also has a goal of possibly keeping the Twin Lakes area cleaned if possible and necessary. Community service projects are ringing bells for the Salvation Army and purchasing gifts for a child on the Community Club Angel Tree at the bank.
The members reported on the activities that took place at the school in October for 4-H Week. The club put together an informational booth with photos explaining all the ways the kids in the county were involved in 4-H this past year and used pumpkins to display all the areas covered in the 4-H Pledge. The booth was on display in the commons area at the Woonsocket School during a home volleyball game that week.
Finally, Taryn Ziebart did a demonstration on making Christmas tree ornaments to look like cupcakes. All members made at least one and they will be used to decorate a tree to represent the club at the Sanborn County Courthouse this Christmas season.
