The Blackhawk boys continue to rumble through opponents, as they handed Mt. Vernon/Plankinton their first loss Monday night at home, 64-56.
Sanborn Central/Woonsocket was led by Dillon Moore with 21 points, 13 coming from the free throw line. He was backed up by Brady Tiede with 19 and Josh Feiner with 15.
Tiede also led in rebounds with eight out of his teams total 27. Tucker Kingsbury led in steals with three and assists with four.
The Hawks shot 45.5 percent from the field and 67 percent from the stripe, on 22-of-33.
Tate Deinert led MVP with 17 points and five assists. Cody Muilenburg and Hayden Schmidt led in rebounds with five apiece.
The Titans had a total 23 rebounds and shot 76 percent on 13-of-17 from the free throw line. SCW had nine turnovers to the Titans’ 11.
MVP fell to 2-1, while the Blackhawks improved to 3-0. The Hawks have a break over the holiday, and next host Hitchcock/Tulare at a Jan. 2 home doubleheader.
Sanborn Central/Woonsocket remains rated No. 3 in the Class B Sportswriters polls.
