Seven women from the Lutheran-Methodist parish attended the Prairie Rivers Conference Spring Gathering at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Wessington Springs on Saturday, April 9.
The theme for the gathering was, “We are God’s Handiwork,” based on Ephesians 2:10. Pastor John Paulson of Our Savior’s presented a Bible study on the Bible verse during the morning session.
Fifty-five women enjoyed an informative day hearing from representatives from Lutheran Social Services, Lutheran Outdoors, Bread for the World, St. Dysmas Prison Ministry and Thrivent Financial for Lutherans.
Julie Davis entertained the group with a light talk on flower gardening and the butterflies they attract.
The “Love Offering” was paper products and other items for the Wessington Springs Food Pantry.
Following the installation of new officers, a closing litany was read by former Mission Growth chairman, Vickie Hines of Woonsocket.
